A Painting a Day for 7 Days – Day 6

The painting I created on Day 6 is called A Stroll by the Sea and is a painting of Tentsmuir Beach in St Andrews, Scotland with the distant figure enjoying a moment of reflection.

A Painting a Day for 7 Days – Day 5

Day 5 – Loch Dunmore Reflections, Faskally Woods, Perthshire

The late autumn colours reflected in the loch and its wonderful tranquility caught my imagination.

It is a beautiful place to visit particularly at this time of year.

A Painting a Day for 7 Days…. Day 1- Glen Etive, near Glencoe

Day 1-  Glen Etive, near Glencoe

The first painting in my “A Painting a Day for 7 Days” project is of Glen Etive, near Glencoe.

This is an area of Scotland which I find particularly captivating, with its imposing mountains and  atmospheric skies. It was the subject paintings in 2011 “Scottish Mountains in the Mist” and  earlier this year “Buachaille Etive Mor”.

This painting is based on an image captured by a very talented local photographer called Cameron Livingston who kindly gave me permission to create my own version on canvas.

I particularly love the movement of the water as it tumbles down the mountain side.
